Description

Please join Dean Catherine Quinlan and the Friends of the USC Libraries for the opening reception to Artists at Work: Photographs by Jim Arkatov. Born in 1920, Jim Arkatov has been photographing some of the world’s greatest musicians and fine artists for decades. The works on display include portraits of Southern California’s most famous painters, sculptors, photographers, and performance artists, such as John Baldessari, Judy Chicago, David Hockney, Catherine Opie, and John Outterbridge. The thousands of photos he has taken, often in the artists’ studios, are an impressive visual archive of the dynamic LA art world. The exhibition will be on view through December 16, 2016.
